It's been so long since I've posted here, could barely remember how to log in :)

Here is the deal, I have a new studio space, and am working on a few new projects. The first project that I'm working on is a new way to string my stuff. I am totally excited!!! I love making pendants, hate stringing them. I took the class online here, http://www.creativebug.com/ . This site is totally awesome.

Next I just signed up with Stephanie Lee's online class Pipe Dreams, you can get info on her blog site http://stephanielee.typepad.com/stephanie_lee_studios/. I love her art, her writings and her teaching style.

And lastly I am working on a plan to make a piece for the Chicago Artists Month 2012, I'll be in the show at Bridgeport Art Center http://www.bridgeportart.com/ . Working on feasibility, but it will be related to the hand sewing I've been learning how to do from this site: http://alabamachanin.com/

So, no pictures yet, but if your interested in keeping up with my endevours I also post images of my work on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/pages/Lisa-Limas-Fine-Art-Studio so like my page and you can keep up with my finished pieces!

It's Been A Long Time

Since I last wrote, I have moved studios spaces, gotten better at making bezels and started painting again. Here are some of the wall hangings I have made.

There are more, I just have to take pictures of them. Time to finally get a camera.

Happy New Year!!

I'm Back

So after a crazy long hiatus, i have decided to start this blog thing again.

Since I last wrote, I have moved apartments, moved studio spaces and am now just getting back into a making stuff mode. In January I took an encaustics class at Lill Street Studios in Chicago, which put a bug in my pants. I felt that I have to start painting again. Well, my little studio in Evanston, was really tooo tiny to add anything else but me and the dog, after two months of rearranging, I decided it just wasn't working. I went home dejected and hopeless. After discussing with my mom, we came up with the idea of just moving. Having already moved apartments twice in one year, I was really reluctant to move anything ever again. But, after thinking about it, I went online and decided to look at studios and prices and the prices seemed reasonable. That night, I felt that what I really wanted if I could have anything was a space big enough for me, Petunia, my stuff AND to do summersaults. I don’t know why, because I think that last summersault I have done was when I was 6 … which is many years ago.  I went to look at studios, and 300 square feet was still kind of small feeling. I decided to look at the bigger space and fell in LOVE LOVE LOVE. I haggled and came out with a HUGE space and I love it!!!!

My friend Amy http://anomalybyamy.com/index.html helped me reorganize my space and I am now ready to rock and roll in my space.

Here are some pictures, you even get some candid shots of Petunia!!!!

Ok, well here is my first post ever! This week I started some of the new techniques in Stephanie Lee's Homesteader's Metalsmithing class.  I LOVE it! It's related to her book Semiprecious Salvage: Creating Found Art Jewelry which I have been looking through for the last year

Here are my first easy quick bezels ever. Forgive the picture quality, these are all taken with my iphone.

These past two weeks have really been interesting as Petunia, my goldendoodle, has small cysts removed off her back. I have been homebound and BORED, so I started weaving beads again. Here is a pic of that too!

I think that's it for today!
